Wheelbarrow Blooms

Hello everyone,
Before I go on to my card I have a question to ask you. I've been wanting to use boxes instead of envelopes for my cards and wondered if any of you use them, and if so, do you make your own or buy them? I would really appreciate any advice on the best places to get them or where to find a template.

I have another Mother's Day card today using LOTV Perfect Pair papers and an image from the Cute Cottage Garden art pad. I know I've been neglecting my colouring again but these toppers are so useful! The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the twine, heart pin, seam binding and lace are from the Ribbon Girl.

Sorry the photo is a little bit dark.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
In the Pink - Mother's Day/Card for a Special Lady
Papertake Weekly - For Mum

Thanks so much for looking!

Rebecca.

  2. Hi Rebecca. Sorry I've neglected you but I've not been feeling too good. Lovely card today in beautiful colours! I've got this art pad too and it's really lovely so why not use it.
I have the Crafter's Companion box board and envelobox creator to make boxes and very deep envelopes, I don't think you need to buy the complete Ultimate Pro to use these boards which can be bought separately but check their website to make sure. Craft Creations also sell boxes of different sizes you can put together without glue. Hope this helps. Debra x

  3. Hi Rebecca. Wow that.'s a lovely card in pink my favourite colour. Your image, paper,& butterflies all look so pretty together.. Your flower arrangements look lovely too. Are these some of your new flowers? I buy my card boxes from Stella crafts, you can find them on ebay & they deliver free by courier. You can buy various amounts too. Boxes are really easy to put together. Hope this helps.

  5. Fabulous card and those Art Pads are wonderfully handy.
I make my own boxes using a Scor Pal template, they are so quick and easy to make. I buy the white card from'The Range' as it is reasonably priced.

  7. Beautiful card, love the colours.
I use boxes for my cards if I am adding lots of flowers and I just cute 2 x 8 inch squares trim a tiny sliver off 2 sides on one piece (so that a lid fits) score 1 inch along all sides, cut along score line from edge to 1 inch line on all corners and then just fold and glue, I also use a circle punch to make half circles in the lid. Hope this makes sense feel free to contact me if you are stuck. Gail xx

  9. This is a beautiful card Rebecca, I love your topper and pretty papers.
I sometimes use boxes, I either make my own using the Crafter's Companion Boxer Board Scoreboard or buy them from Craftwork Cards.

  12. An absolute beauty Rebecca :-) I love the flowers you use and am hopefully going shopping for some soon :-)
I have just started to think about using boxes since I started adding more 3D flowers and have so far just made a couple myself but am looking around for ideas too!

  13. Hi Rebecca, this is absolutely beautiful! I use boxes now and then, sometimes ready made and some using my Hougie Board, but only when I really need to...I make cards for commission and offer cards with boxes, but rarely get asked for them. I think that people are thinking of postage charges a lot of the time. Hugs Carole Z X

  18. Good afternoon Rebecca,
Absolutely stunning card, I just LOVE everything about it.
I have had a look back at some of your beautiful cards....everyone a winner for me.
I make boxes but always have lots in stock from Stella Crafts. I love their boxes, they also do lots of sizes. Sometime I wonder if it is actually worth while making your own, by the time you cost the card and your time. Of course it is more expensive if like me you make mistakes......!!!!!
    Happy Crafting

  19. Hi Rebecca Sorry not commented earlier been away on holiday all last week. This card is so pretty these art pads are really gorgeous love the colours just fab. I buy my boxes from a company called Stella Crafts http://www.stellacrafts.co.uk/ This is the link they do all sizes and are quite reasonable they sometimes attend some of the craft fairs as well. I used hundreds for the invites for my sons wedding and the ruby wedding box on my recent post is one of their 8x8 boxes I usually decorate the top but have also just added a label either looks good .They come flat and you assemble them yourself so great for storing. Hope this helps . They also do very good quality tissue paper as well Love and Happy Crafting Hugs Carole
